Refund Policy

This Refund Policy explains how refunds are handled by LAND OF CEYLON (PVT) LTD in relation to bookings made through our website or via direct communication.

This policy should be read together with our How to Book and Terms & Conditions.

1. Payment Structure

To secure a booking, a deposit of 50% of the total booking value is required at the time of confirmation.

The remaining balance must be paid prior to the start of the trip, as specified at the time of booking.

2. General Refund Principles

We aim to offer a fair and transparent refund process. However, as we work with third-party service providers such as hotels, transport providers and activity operators, refunds are subject to the policies and conditions of those suppliers.

LAND OF CEYLON (PVT) LTD does not apply additional cancellation penalties of its own. However, refund amounts may vary depending on supplier charges and booking conditions.

3. Cancellation by the Traveller

If you wish to cancel your booking, you must notify us in writing as soon as possible.

Upon cancellation:

  • we will request refunds from the relevant suppliers where applicable
  • the refundable amount will depend on supplier policies
  • some services may be partially refundable or non-refundable

No refunds will normally be provided for:

  • services already used or partially used
  • last-minute cancellations where suppliers impose full charges
  • no-shows or failure to arrive

4. Supplier-Dependent Refunds

As a travel organiser, we coordinate services provided by third parties. Each supplier has its own cancellation and refund policy.

This means that:

  • some bookings may be fully refundable
  • some may be partially refundable
  • some may be non-refundable

We will always make reasonable efforts to obtain the maximum possible refund on your behalf.

5. Fees and Deductions

Refunds may be subject to certain deductions, including:

  • supplier cancellation fees
  • bank transfer charges
  • payment processing fees
  • currency exchange differences

LAND OF CEYLON (PVT) LTD does not charge its own cancellation fee, but is not responsible for costs imposed by third parties or financial institutions.

6. Currency and Exchange Rate Differences

Refunds will be processed based on the applicable exchange rate at the time of processing.

Due to currency fluctuations, the refunded amount may be higher or lower than the original amount paid.

Such differences are beyond our control, and we do not accept liability for exchange rate variations.

7. Refund Processing Time

Refund processing times may vary depending on:

  • supplier response times
  • banking procedures
  • payment method used

Refunds are typically processed within a reasonable timeframe after confirmation from suppliers, but delays may occur in certain cases.

8. Changes or Cancellation by Us

If we need to cancel or significantly change your booking due to circumstances beyond our control, we will make reasonable efforts to offer suitable alternatives or provide a refund where possible.

9. Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend that all travellers obtain comprehensive travel insurance.

Travel insurance can cover cancellation costs, medical emergencies, travel disruption and other unforeseen events that may not be refundable under this policy.
